18-year-old student invents ‘ElectroShoe’ that lets women electrocute indecent assault attackers

Siddharth Mandala witnessed several acts of indecent assault against women, something that inspired him to find a way to help them. He spent several years developing the device and never gave up even when engineers and electricians he was consulting online abandoned his quest. After 17 failed prototypes, he eventually created a viable version.

It also alerts police and family members that the woman is in danger. All the woman has to do is to kick the attacker. In an interview, Mandala said: “I created a unique circuit board that uses footsteps to charge itself. The more the user walks, the more energy is generated and stored in a rechargeable battery.”
He never gave up until he got a viable prototype. Photo: Oddity Central Mandala added: “While experimenting, I faced electrocution twice. But whenever I felt like giving up, I remembered my favorite inventor Thomas Edison’s words, ‘I didn’t fail 1,000 times. The light-bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps.'” He has filed a patent for his invention and plans to start marketing soon. However, it is still in its developmental stage.
