Algeria vs Nigeria: Team news, TV schedule for Fridays’s game

Football update

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will be out on Friday against the Desert Foxes of Algeria in FIFA World Cup qualifying game billed for Constantine.

The match will be played at 8:45 pm in the main bowl of the Stade Mohamed Hamlaoui.

It is the last group game of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Super Eagles have already qualified for the tournament to be staged in various Russian cities next year and victory for them against Rabah Madjer’s men would see them complete the qualifying series without defeat.

Nigeria’s Franco-German coach, Gernot Rohr, will go into this tie without a number of key players and will hope test some of his new invitees ahead of next summer’s World Cup.

Nigerians will watch the game live on television on SS7, SS9; as well as online stream via BT Sport app.

SQUADS & TEAM NEWS

The Super Eagles midfield and frontline have been hit by injury with Ogenyi Onazi, Mikel Agu, Moses Simon, Odion Ighalo and Victor Moses all sidelined.

Defender Kenneth Omeruo and striker Kayode Olarenwaju were called up as replacements with Anthony Nwakaeme looking very assured for his first Super Eagles cap.

Also captain John Obi Mikel is likely to be rested while Ikechukwu Ezenwa will retain his place between the poles.

The Desert Foxes have already failed in their bid to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup but coach Madjer has vowed to beat the Super Eagles.

He has called up strong squad including players such as Leicester City’s Mahrez and Slimani whom he’ll be looking up to for goals, while Bentaleb and Brahimi are expected to provide inspiration in midfield.

Algeria potential starting XI, Salhi, Ghoulam, Bensebaini, Mandi, Attal, Bentaleb, Brahimi, Bannecar, Mahrez, Slimani, Soudani.
