Truth be told, there are some music artistes we miss their sounds and we keep wondering where they are. Regarding the Nigerian Music Industry, some stars who have made a name for themselves were no where to be found in 2018. Below is the list of Top Nigerian Music Artistes that we did not really hear from in 2018:
1. Ice Prince
Now floating his own label Super Cool Cats (SCC), the Aboki crooner has failed to come out with a hit track for long. Ice Prince Zamani even dropped an E.P titled “C.O.L.D” which failed to make any impact in the Nigerian Entertainment Industry.
2. Ycee
Korede Bello cannot be forgotten by Nigerians because of his hit track “GodWin”. But for long he has been absent from the music scene and in 2018, it seems to have gotten worse. While still under Mavins Records, he was lost in 2018.
Since dropping his “The First Wave” EP, YCee has struggled to keep up with his status in the Nigerian music scene. He dropped few songs in 2018 and also appeared on features yet, none made it big. 2018 was definitely not his year.
3. Korede Bello
Korede Bello cannot be forgotten by Nigerians because of his hit track “GodWin”. But for long he has been absent from the music scene and in 2018, it seems to have gotten worse. While still under Mavins Records, he was lost in 2018.
4. Kcee
Everyone could think Kcee has stopped music, his songs no longer sell. He even featured WizKid in a song in 2018, but it was forgotten almost as soon as it was released. Whether he is affected by Harrysong’s departure from 5 Star Music or not, the Limpopo crooner definitely has to work on his brand come 2019.
5. Cynthia Morgan (Madrina)
She went into the blue for more than half of the year and when she appeared she was bearing Madrina instead of Cynthia Morgan. We thought the change of name meant a kind of reformation but it still didn’t help as she was hardly noticed in 2018.
6. P-square
Yes, P-square is on the list because Mr. P and Rudeboy separated is not P-square. In 2018, there was no P-square music and with the look of things, we may never have P-square again.
7. Lil Kesh
Leaving YBNL affected his career negativity and the once Headies Next rated act nominee has gone obscure. He tried releasing some songs but yet they were all uncharted. Lil Kesh was simply not around in 2018.
8. Sugar Boy
Apart from “Chop” ft. YCee in the beginning of the year, The G-worldwide entertainment artiste has not released any other song in 2018. Some think it is because of Kizz Daniel’s exit from the team but it is not so. The singer simply didn’t think about music in 2018, maybe he has other plans.
9. Iyanya
Since leaving Triple MG to Mavins and out again, Iyanya has failed to impress in the music scene in 2018. He released a couple of songs this year but none was able to make waves.
10. Skales
Despite the fact that Mr. Shake Body dropped an album this year that featured a lot of top artistes in the industry, he still did not produce any hit song. He even released a single “Currency” ft. Davido but it still didn’t help matters.
While, we hope that these musicians come back and banging in the coming year 2019, there is no doubt that they were unnoticed in 2018.
