An eight-year-old American boy who reviews children’s toys online has been named as the world’s highest earning YouTube creator. Ryan ToysReview, an American kid who loves Lego, trains, cars, Disney and his 17 million followers who generated him over 26 billion views


And thanks to his content, young Ryan has managed to earn $22 million (£17 million) in 2018 with appearances from his parents and twin sisters. Ryan’s earnings, which do not include tax or fees charged by agents or lawyers, have doubled compared with the previous year when he was placed in eighth place after bringing in $11 million (£8 million) in revenue between 2016 and 2017.

Ryan, who publishes videos most days with his mum, dad and twin sisters under the name Ryan ToysReview, is estimated to have earned £17 million ($22m) in the last year. A video in which Ryan, then five or six-years-old, finds toy eggs on an inflatable water slide has been viewed 1.6 billion times. Asked why kids liked watching his videos, Ryan replied: “Because I’m entertaining and I’m funny.” Biggest earner All but around £1 million of the income comes from adverts shown before videos, with the rest from sponsorship deals. As he is still a child, 15 per cent of Ryan’s earnings are put into a bank account that he will be able to access when he turns 18. While his income has doubled in the last year, it is expected to rise sharply again after he began selling an exclusive range of toys and clothing with US supermarket Walmart. A video of Ryan visiting Walmart to look at his own product range has been viewed 14 million times.
