Lampard Signs As New Chelsea Manager, Announcement Expected Today

Chelsea fans are becoming increasingly frustrated about the vacant manger’s position at Stamford Bridge since the exit of Maurizio Sarri last month.

But the wait is almost over following reports that club legend, Frank Lampard will be announced as Chelsea’s new manager later today.
Lampard has been the number one managerial target throughout the course of the summer, but with Sarri having been announced as the new Juventus on June 16, the wait has been long.
We understand that Lampard has put pen-to-paper with the Blues to become the new head coach and the announcement could be made as soon as today.
Chelsea start their pre-season training in earnest on Friday, with their first pre-season match on July 10 in Dublin against Bohemian FC.
Lampard is expected to bring back Jody Morris as his assistant coach, with Chris Jones also returning as a first team coach, however Derby Telegraph report that Shay Given will be sticking with Derby County.
Derby gave Lampard and Morris extra days off from Rams pre-season to conclude their business with the Blues, while also stepping up their search for a new boss.
But a breakthrough in negotiations and Derby being on the verge of their bringing in their own man means that the announcement is close.
According to The Telegraph, the Rams are set to appoint former PSV boss Phillip Cocu to replace Lampard, with the Dutchman to take on his duties this week.
